APPLICATION:
  
Believe it or not life really is not all about you or me (despite what the TV commercials tell us!). Life really is about God, it’s about others, and it’s about you and me sharing with others who are in need.  

The Bible teaches us that as believers, as followers of Christ, we become new creatures with new attitudes, new ambitions, new thoughts, new desires and a new direction in life. No longer are we obsessed with me, me, me, and mine because now we have a greater calling and purpose in life, to follow Christ and share his love and compassion with others.

The Bible equates greed with idolatry, something God hates. The Bible tells us that no greedy person will inherit God’s kingdom (Ephesians 5:5). This sounds a bit harsh but this is what the Scriptures teach - whether or not we agree. God wants us to grow up in our thinking, to start thinking more about others and get our focus outward rather than inward.

As I grow older, it has become harder and harder for me to justify more and more stuff for myself, when there are so many needy people living in the world.  God blesses us to bless others.
A PRAYER: 

“God help me to become less focused on myself and my own personal desires and needs and more focused on others around me who are in real need.”
