BIBLE REFERENCES:

Psalm 1:1-3 (NIV) “Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.”

Psalm 5:11, 12 (NIV) “But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them that those who love your name may rejoice in you. For surely, O Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.”

Psalm 25:8-10 (NIV) “Good and upright is the Lord; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways. He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way. All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of his covenant.”

Jeremiah 29:11(NIV)  “’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”

Hebrews 11:1-3 (NIV) “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for. By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.”

Hebrews 11:6 (NIV) “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
Hebrews 12:14, 15 (NIV) “Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.”

Hebrews 13:8 (NIV) “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

APPLICATION:

Only one person ever lived without sin and with a perfect relationship with God the Father; that person is Jesus Christ. The rest of us seem to meander through life with a hit and miss relationship with God. Sometimes we feel really close to God and our prayers seem to get instantaneous answers. Other times we feel far removed from God and our relationship with Him is strained. Our prayers seem to bounce right back at us off the walls.

The Bible tells us that God is the same yesterday today and forever. With this truth in mind, who do you think moved to cause a separation between us and God? That ugly thing called sin is usually the culprit that keeps us at a distance with God. Sure, we are still bound for heaven, we are still considered Christian, but our lives lack the power, the joy, the happiness and contentment we once had when we were closer to God

It really is time to get back on track!
A PRAYER:

“God help me to keep my faith alive and on the right track; the track that pleases you.”
