God Is Everywhere - Except
BIBLE REFERENCES:

Psalm 139:7-10 (NIV) “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are three. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me; your right hand will hold me fast.”

Matthew 7:7, 8 (NIV) “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.”

Romans 8:37-39 (NIV) “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Revelations 3:20 (NIV) “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him and he with me.”

APPLICATION:

So, you think you can escape God? You may be right! But, you will have to work at it.

The Bible teaches us that God is omnipresent. This is one of God’s unique attributes. It is one of the characteristics that make God, God. We humans have a hard time being at any one place on time but God is everywhere, all of the time. Well, this statement is almost 100% true! There are several places you will not find God residing. One is in the heart of an anti-God rebel.

The other is the place God has prepared for him – that would be Hell!
 A PRAYER:

“God, thank you for the value you have placed on me, as an individual, by giving me a free-will to accept or reject you. You could have forced yourself into my life but you chose not to. You gave me the right and privilege to choose for myself whether or not to become part of your family. Today I open wide the door to my life and invite you into my personal space. You are always welcome here.”

The omnipresence of God includes all time, from eternity past to eternity future. There is in fact no time frame in the past in which God did not exist and there will be no time frame in the future where God will not exist. Within each time frame there is no space in which God does not occupy - except that space God has purposefully set aside. That space is our personal space, the space God has assigned to each one of us.

Our free-will, a gift from God I might add, governs this space. God will not force himself into this space; he waits to be invited in. God will not force himself on anyone. Forcing himself into our personal space would be a violation of the free-will gift he has given to each one of us.   If God doesn't exist in your space, invite him in!
