Ignorance is Not Bliss
BIBLE REFERENCES:

Deuteronomy 5: 7- 21 (NIV) “You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above ore on the earth beneath …… You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God …. Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy …. Honor your father and your mother ….. You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. You shall not covet ….. “

1 Corinthians 15:33, 34 (NIV) “Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character. Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God – I say this to your shame.”

Galatians 6:7, 8 (NIV) “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he shows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.”

Ephesians 5:10 -12 (LivBible) “Learn as you go along what pleases the Lord. Take no part in the worthless pleasures of evil and darkness, but instead, rebuke and expose them.”

Hebrews 2:1-3 (NIV) “We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. For if the message spoken by angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, how shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation?”

2 Peter 3:14-16 (NIV) “So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him.
There are consequences for the way you think, talk and act. Choosing to ignore these consequences is not very bright. Some people think Ignorance is bliss. They think If they ignore something long enough it will go away. But, in real life these things just accumulate until the bitter end.

God imposes consequences for the way we choose to live our lives. It is true; God has given us a free will to choose our walk in life. You and I both have a God given right to reject God and ignore his desires. However, there will be consequences to pay. Your ignorance about God will not offer you a sound defense when you stand before Him in your day of judgment.

Use your God given intelligence to get to know God better. Get to know how God thinks, begin to understand his ways and make note of his laws by applying them to your life. This will protect you from the pitfalls and snares of life and will lead you to eternal life with God.
