BIBLE REFERENCE:
Romans 1:18-20 (NIV) “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. “
APPLICATION:
Excuse me but you really do not have an excuse! You can’t claim ignorance as an excuse for this one.
I searched my dictionary to find a definition for the word “Dumbness”. I couldn’t find one. But, this did not deter me one bit! People create new words all the time - just look at the text messaging going around today. So, here is my definition:
Dumbness: The natural ability for smart, intelligent, educated and gifted people to believe, think and do dumb stuff.
It seems God must have had a word like this in mind when he looked down on his creation; just read the first chapter of the Book of Romans! The people mentioned toward the end of the chapter do not appear to be all that bright to me. They seem to fit my definition of dumbness quite well.
A PRAYER:
“God, forgive me for my selective ignorance and dumbness with regard to your truth. Help me to use the common sense and intelligence you created in me.”
Many smart, intelligent, educated people have swallowed the evolution story hook, line and sinker. And, it is even taught in our public schools today as scientific fact! How is this possible? One word quickly comes to mind, Gullibility. The story sounds logical enough to be believed. Some people, of course, want to believe the story because it allows them to logically exclude God from their thinking. No God, no accountability. However, Common sense alone (a gift from God, I might add!) should cause us to raise some red flags here and do some of our own serious thinking. To me, it makes a lot more logical sense to believe in God!
The Evolution Myth

The Scriptures tell us that people deliberately rejected the truth about God and substituted a lie. They preferred their own pet ideas over the truth. Today, many smart, scholarly people have done the very same with their ideas and beliefs about the origin of life. Wanting to dispel any thought at all about God’s existence, they have come up with some rather bizarre and unbelievable ideas.
Let’s start with the “Big Bang” our scientists claim started it all. If this was the absolute true beginning of time then what exactly blew up? Where did all of those exploding elements come from? Did they always exist? And, explain to me again (please!) how it was possible for life, as fragile as it is, to evolve itself out of the chaotic, exploding debris that followed. Today we sterilize things by subjecting them to heat.
