opinion the highest calling there is in this life!).  Wilda is a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.

Wilda and I have a wonderful family.  Rick, our oldest son, lives in Veneta, Oregon (near Eugene). Rick is a master woodworker. He has worked as a finish carpenter on many high end homes in California and here in Oregon. Rick has the ability to make a plain piece of wood look like a masterpiece. Rick has designed and built furniture for our home and for others as well. Rick takes after his grandfather who was also a master craftsman.

Ty, our second in line, is a gifted artist who does with graphics what Rick does with wood. Ty has worked as a graphic artist for a number of companies in Oregon, California, Colorado, Idaho and Washington and has run his own graphic art business from his home. Ty is married to his lovely wife, Sandi. Sandi is currently working in the medical field. She has run her own day care and has held various positions in Christian schools located in Oregon and California. Ty and Sandi have given us three bright, beautiful grandchildren – Ashlynn, Megan and Ryan. Ashlynn and Megan are attending NW University and Ryan is in High school.

Sandy, our youngest, is a licensed and seasoned 5th grade school teacher. (Yes, there has been some confusion between Sandi and Sandy. They both even have the same middle name!)  Sandy obtained her BA degree from NW University.  Sandy teaches at a private school in Salem, Oregon. Her students seem to love her a lot. They use just about every holiday as an excuse to load her down with chocolate, flowers, special notes, gift cards, ... etc., (no one ever treated me that well at work!). Sandy has a special way of getting her kids to want to learn, a gift not all teachers have.

Well, this leaves me.

Since the early ‘60s I worked as an engineer. I obtained my BSME degree from Fresno State University (California) and my Master of Science degree from UCLA.  I started work as a rocket propulsion  engineer, first at the Naval Weapon Center and later at the Naval Missile Center, both located  in California.

After my time with the Navy, I worked for General Motors at their research and development facility located near Santa Barbara, California. GM had partnered with the Boeing Company in the development of the Lunar Roving Vehicle (part of NASA’s Apollo Lunar Exploration program). I was the lead engineer responsible for the design and development of the vehicle suspension system.
So, my early life was filled with positive influences.  However, it wasn’t until after I graduated from college and was married and had my family that I started to take my faith walk seriously.

My walk of faith took a sudden surge do to a good friend of mine, Mike.  I met Mike, also an engineer, while working on the Lunar Roving Vehicle project. Mike was not a particularly religious person at the time. As Mike tells it, pressures on the job and at home drove him into heavy drinking. His third child was born premature (only 3 pounds at birth) adding to the pressures of his life. Mike turned to God during this time.  At lunch, one day, Mike shared with me his story and how he accepted Christ as his personal savior. Mike's decision for Christ was certainly not because of my shining example and sterling testimony on the job. I was still riding the fence and playing religious games with my life.

I watched Mike as he grew in his faith. His rapid growth put me to shame. I had been in church all my life and in six months time Mike knew more about the Bible and understood the Scriptures in more depth than I did. I want to make this point very clear, this in no way  is a slam against the church, my past sunday school teachers, pastors or anyone else. It was my fault for being so passive and sloppy in my own personal walk of faith. There is no one else to blame here but me.

It was during this time I recommitted my life to Christ. I began my own personal Bible study (daily!) which I have continued to this very day (close to 40 years later). This web site is filled with Biblical insights and truths I discovered over these many years. I trust they will be a blessing to you and inspire you in your own personal walk of faith.

I hope you find this web site warm and inviting. If you would like to drop us a line, there is a place for that on the top page (the page you first entered). We would love to hear from you.

God Bless!

About Us

After my LRV days, I began work in  vehicle crash safety research.  I worked for several small companies under contract with the U.S. Department of Transportation.  This work eventually led to the start of my own consulting practice specializing in product safety design,  computer software development and accident reconstruction.

I am mostly retired now, but I occasionally pick up work that I find particularly interesting and challenging (more of a hobby).
Allow me to introduce my family.  We are just normal, ordinary people who struggle with life’s problems and issues, just like you.  Sure, our faith walk gets bumpy at times, but, that's life.  It is through these bumpy trials that our faith has a chance to grow.  It is through the storms of life where we learn to trust the Lord.

Wilda (my wife) and I have been married for 49+ years; January of this year (2012) marked our 49th wedding anniversary. Without her at my side, life would have been infinitely harder. During my times
away from home, do to work schedules, she has been the “glue” that kept our family together and on track. She is the one who has made life fulfilling and worthwhile for me. If there is such a thing as a “soul mate”, she is mine. We met in high school and have been best of friends ever since.  After we were married, Wilda chose to be a stay home mom (in my
My walk of faith started at an early age.  I was 13 years old when I accepted Jesus Christ into my life.  It was at a sunday evening church service when the “lights” came on inside me and I realized for the first time I needed Jesus Christ in my life.  I was raised in church from birth and was surrounded by friends and relatives who were strong Christians.
